This one day intensive workshop will explore options for the safe and cost effective packing of objects for storage, short domestic movements or longer national and international transit. Presented by IAS and Charm Watts (MAAS), Going the Distance provides attendees with practical advice and industry solutions for packing and crating, including an overview of materials in use in Australasia and further afield. The event will be held at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa Tory Street storage facility. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided.
The course will have a wide appeal to a range of museum professionals including registrars, curators, conservators and exhibition project managers.
